Relyovo

Relyovo is the little sister of Rayovo village. Both villages are located off the main Samokov-Sapareva Banya road but Relyovo has better access to Belchinski Bani spa. It is a relatively small village which does come with the essentials for Bulgarians- 3 pubs! In the centre, there is the usual Communist style small shopping centre which has a food shop and also a charming pre-Communist and overly large (for this size of village!) Municipality building.

It's a simple but more importantly, very quaint traditional village, typical of this area. As such, like Rayovo, it has become popular with second home buyers because of the peace and tranquillity it offers. Without a doubt, the main focal point in the village is the charming Orthodox church near the centre.

While the facilities here maybe be basic (3 pubs and a shop), there are plans for some more upmarket off-plan developments near the edge which will certainly expand what is on offer with things such as pools, restaurants and spa facilities. The village can certainly be classed as up and coming and with such good access to Belchinski Bani and the spa facilities found there, it is a great place for holidays all year round.

Public transport is not as regular as with Rayovo but Samokov town can be access with buses leaving around twice a day. Borovets and Sofia can be access from Samokov bus station.

There are two access point for Relyovo village and the most popular way to access it is from the Samokov side off the main road. The second is to access it from Belchinski Bani spa and in both cases, the roads are good all year round. From Relyovo, the little known village of Alino can be accessed and here can be found an ancient monastery which make it a great place to visit. Plus, Sofia city (45kms) can be access directly from Relyovo on a less busy route than the normal Samokov-Sofia main road. This makes journey time between Sofia and Relyovo very little and is certianly a big advantage.
