It's official! The Super Borovets Project is to start on October 8^th 2007 with the digging ceremony at the site of the Markudjitse ski lift near Borovets. It is rumoured that Bulgarian president Georgi Parvanov will attend the digging ceremony.

The Super Borovets Project will be in three phases; starting in Samokov, then going on to Beli Iskar and completing in Borovets around 2014.

It’s certainly been a long wait but with this good news released by the local council (who have a stake in the project), the area will definitely be transformed.
